Welcome Hawthorn!

This is Hawthorn, my new Ragdoll kitten from Saint Louis.  I just went and picked her up on Tuesday.  She is so sweet and cute.  She bounces everywhere and loves to chase balls across the floor.  She sits on my lap and sleeps with me, which is just what I wanted.  She is the top right kitty in the first photo and the one climbing out of the basket in the second photo.  I named her after the Missouri state flower.  If you want your own Ragdoll, visit GloryBeRagdolls.

  3. Wonderful, congratulations!
Btw, at what age does the Ragdoll start behaving as a ragdoll, do you know?
Now she seems to act like a " normal " active kitten..

  4. Metscan, I wrote Lena, the breeder at GloryBeRagdolls, and this is what she replied:

"Lol I am glad she is a normal kitten ;)

I think the name Ragdoll is cute..BUT it can be misleading to a lot of people. Not ALL Ragdolls are laid back or do the Ragdoll "flop", they are each their own little person with their own unique purrsonailty!

In general the breed is very laid back and very mellow....and as you saw at my house lots are GREAT with kids and can be carried around Aaaaaaaall day. BUT... since they haven't read any books telling them what they should be like; they tend to grow and become who they are verses who we think they should be! ;)

Right now you want a happy, healthy, loving, and playful kitten. That is the foundation to a wonderful adult cat and devoted lifelong companion.

The key thing on our part is to care for them, nurture them, play with them, snuggle them, and love them for the wonderful unique individual that they are :) We get one heck of a return on that investment....unconditional love, soft purrs, and sandpaper kisses!"

I can add that Hawthorn does do the "ragdoll flop" as Lena put it.
